Phillip is a native of Memphis Tennessee and a graduate of Memphis State University where he served, part-time, as a member of the faculty for 2 years.
Phillip is an accomplished pianist/conductor and a conducting offer brought him to Nashville and the Opryland Family in 1978. In the years to follow, he continued to play and conduct in a multitude of park performances, industrial shows and special events featuring major artists such as Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin, Trace Adkins, Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee, Minnie Pearl, Ernie Ford and Porter Waggoner, to name a few.
As a musical director, Phillip assisted in Opryland's nationwide casting/audition tour. Phillip was instrumental in bringing some of the finest musicians and singers to Nashville. Once here, he helped coach and develop these young singers and musicians into excellent stage performers.
Over the years, Phillip developed his directing and producing skills and brought several first-time productions to Nashville like Opryland's, "Rising Star" Country Show and the fun and exciting Halloween show "The Web." Phillip also produced, wrote and directed the first Opryland USA "Mayberry Reunion Show" starring Don Knotts, George Lindsey and ten other original Andy Griffith Show cast members.
Since the closing of Opryland Theme Park in 1997, Phillip formed his own company, Maestro Productions. Maestro Productions celebrated its twelfth year anniversary and it's 800th production in 2009! With 38 years experience and numerous industry contacts, Phillip has made Maestro Productions the Premier Custom Show and Event Services Company in Nashville.
Phillip's off time is spent flying and he holds a commercial pilot's license with multi-engine, instrument and seaplane ratings. He resides in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee with his lovely wife, Lori. To go to her website, click here:www.loristegner.com.
